Genoa is located on the historic Galena-Chicago stagecoach route in the northeast corner of DeKalb County. Genoa was settled around 1835 by Thomas Madison, an American Revolutionary War soldier. He named Genoa after a town in New York.
Genoa sits in DeKalb County. DeKalb County has been assigned a Radon Zone 1 by the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency). Zone 1 has the highest potential for indoor radon levels greater than 4 pCi/L. Since Genoa is in Zone 1, it is highly recommended that you have your home tested for radon gas.
4-8 pCi/L is the equivalent of smoking about 8-16 cigarettes per day. This is enough reason alone to have your home tested!
We offer a very accurate 48hr test with a continuous radon monitor. At the end of the test, the results are ready and will be emailed within the hour. No need to wait for lab results!
